Ya veis que de este "humedal" os estoy enseñando solo especies de plantas de zonas ruderales áridas, jeje. Cierro con una mata de pepinos del diablo (Ecballium elaterium), que crecían allí muy lozanas; y con un primer plano de una mariquita del pepino (Henosepilachna cf. argus); especie fitófaga.
Mata de pepinos del diablo (Ecballium elaterium). Planta rastrera de hojas medianamente grandes, de forma vagamente entre triangular y lobulada, de borde ondulado y cubiertas de una vellosidad espesa y dura; con muchas flores de aspecto estrellado, de cinco pétalos blancos. Primer plano de una flor masculina de pepino del diablo en la que se está alimentando una mariquita del pepino (género Henosepilachna), un escarabajo con la típica forma de cúpula de las mariquitas, de color naranja con pequeños puntos negros. Estas mariquitas no se alimentan de pulgones, sino que son herbívoras, y específicas de cucurbitáceas.

A little spiky yellow 28 spotted ladybug larva chewing on a really distressed leaf. The larva's little yellow body is stubby like a jellybean with chunky worm rolls. On each roll theres a row of spikeys that stick out, with smaller spikes on each bigger spike. It has little legs in the front of its body, and its tiny dot eye can be seen on the side of its little face. I have used the word little alot in this description, but it is accurate. An adult 28 spotted potato ladybug chilling on a nicer green leaf. The beetle is very round, like half a marble. It is all orangey yellow with black splotchy dots all over. The light sheen of tiny velvety hairs can be seen all over it. Its tiny legs are barely seen under its body.
