Thanks to @drkfx.bsky.social , found a HexTile pattern material with just the exact params i was looking and 4 ins less than DF material in HLSL with more features.

You can see one misclick in the video, where she presses "vann" (water). It's because that button is located in the same position as "mer" (more) on the adjacent hextile board. If you look closely, you see her doing a little "whoops!" hop and immediately corrects herself. Clever dog 🤩

like look at the building tiles! there are four specific building types, all of which do a different thing, which all have "beige walls, reddish-brown roof" as their art, and in order to know which building you are trying to play you need to identify them by shape on a 24mm hextile!

Fun fact: my game is inspired by Travian and Travian was inspired by massively multiplayer online Settlers of Catan!

Unfortunately Travian went hard on the pay-to-win model, hence the 'need' for a new game.
