The person queued before me ordered three pizza slices ($1.95 x 3) and nacho fries ($4.99 x 1.)

A dispute ensued about the total price.

Until I blurted out "$10.84!"

As a high-functioning autistic person, I've met many low-functioning neurotypicals. Funny how they don't get labels, though. It seems normal is normal, no matter how dysfunctional it is, as long as it applies to the majority. #neurodiversity #labels #highfunctioningautism

I still have some deficits in communication. They might not come across on camera because right now I'm in in the safe space of my home. There's no dialogue. I am in my comfort space. People would be "He's high functioning".

I found ways to create structure in my life I feel like I need less of masking. I'm self-employed and have build my life in a way that takes into account my energy levels, my autism in general, our home is very sensory friendly.

It feels a bit invalidating because when I do try speak up about or trying to ask for accommodation that is necessity – people are quick to judge you are fine, this is just an excuse, you seem to be doing ok. Because I appear to be high functioning
