Work starts today to remove the dilapidated buildings marked on the map - the bandstand, the Oasis cafe and the derelict park keeper’s bungalow.

The second picture shows how much park space will be recovered by removing the bungalow.

It’s World Car Free Day today!

I’ve been celebrating by promoting a scheme I’m involved with to make the most of a now car-free road through our local park. Have managed to get money from the council to turn some tarmac into rain gardens!

Here are the fruits of @frankieroberto.com’s efforts - work on new rain gardens at each end, to be planted in March. Between them a new marked cycle lane, and spaces to play and exercise. It’s beginning to look more like a part and less like a road. (2/3)
