You see the same sort of rhetoric of “Calling Netanyahu a war criminal is antisemitism” as you see from Indian diaspora groups who say “Calling Modi a war criminal is Hinduphobia.” We should dismiss both and stop exceptionalizing Zionism as better or worse than Hindutva.
This is the exact same kind of statement that Turkish or Indian diaspora groups make when people criticize Erdoğan or the BJP, it's just pure nationalism dressed up with social justice language. Which, y'know, is fine, it's what I expect, but nobody has to pretend it's anything different.
It’s embarrassing that the rabbi of Central Synagogue - one of the most prominent Reform rabbis in the US - is portraying Mamdani’s accurate description of Netanyahu as a war criminal as a sign of antisemitism. This is part of why young people take antisemitism less seriously than they should.

I recently heard the term "hinduphobic" and it makes no sense to me. I certainly have experienced plenty of racism but I have not experienced hinduphobia in north america or europe. I am sure that every one of my muslim friends/acquaintances has experienced islamophobia. It's everywhere.

When we say things like Islamophobia, Hinduphobia, antisemitism are bad, we are not saying that there are no bad actors in these faith traditions, or denying that folks use faith to justify atrocities. We're saying point your anger at those specific people, not the average rando of faith.

I'd include the whole "Hinduphobia" thing here but unlike antisemitism, racism, or AAPI hate, I don't think there's actually a significant underlying problem being exploited (at least in the US), it's like,, meta-exploitation taking advantage of the *concept* of minority protections
