Tentative prediction: the buildback / hireback from the next recession will involve retraining workers on new AI-first processes. I would argue they've already figured it out. Large firms are playing the long game in decreasing junior headcounts because they don't want to field calls from Lexpert and Precedent confronting them about it, as happens when they reduce student / hireback numbers drastically in a given year.
