#HistoricLA
Spoilers for Umberto Eco's Baudolino, which pretends to be straight historicla fiction for 2/3 of its length, until these guys start rocking up.

I'm surprised that the CEO of the Royal Society of Arts, Commerce and *Manufacture* has forgotten that much of the historicla imperative to regulate came from abuse by *manufacturing and commerce*.
Bonkers and empty column from Andy Haldane. From absolutely nowhere he plucks a proposal to cut regulatory bodies and budgets in half. For good measure he advises that AI can help find overlaps between regulatory rulebooks. I mean, come on.
I’m getting really fed up of these abstract attacks on ‘regulation’ - why is Andy Haldane advocating the Doge approach for UK - blanket halving the number of regulators and their budgets? on.ft.com/416pqlx 1/2

Few of us here are going to defend White Settler Colonialism. But not acknowledging specific historicla and cultural contexts is simply a different form of Eurocentrism, with the focus only on European agency.

for #TransHistoryWeek, a mini version of the history section on gender diversity at the back of I Shall Never Fall in Love (my last YA graphic novel).

Always a challenge to simplify this stuff enough to be properly beginner-friendly without losing nuance, but I'm really proud of how it turned out

Here’s Charles Sleeth’s poem, “After the Flood”, winner of the 1984 Caedmon prize for poetry in the Old English style, awarded by Tha Engliscan Gesithas, a British historicla society.

On a final bjt here, have you ever read Gods of Sagittarius co-authored by Eric Flint who usually writes historicla fiction? That book has me in a mental stranglehold desperate for a sequel

I'd say that is correct. A historicla narrative is told if i know all the history and people involved. This is why I don't explain to others becasue it's confusing and long. I am not the only person in the story. I suspect the Egypt stuff is not only personal or academic but has significance 2027

I don't dispute that. but there's a multitude of eponyms named for historicla figures who have had a .. fluctuating public opinion due to historical perspectives. James Audubon among others. and again, what if you take this tool and change the names of species for "good" people as retaliation?
