LKS2 had a brilliant Stone Age Experience day today! In the Y3 classroom we were creating Stone Age Jewellery by shaping and moulding clay and then threading our shapes onto twine. It was fun ! #HistoryatWelbeck #ArtatWelbeck

Year 3 have been working as archaeologists in history today, exploring artefacts found in the tombs of ancient Egyptian pharaohs! We then discussed what we would want in our own tomb if we were a pharaoh. ⚰⚱

Year 4/3 used atlases to find towns and cities that were located along The Fosse Way which was a main road that was built in Britain by the Romans. The children learnt how roads were built, the reasons why and the impact that they have had. #GeographyatWelbeck #HistoryatWelbeck

Year 3 had an exciting morning, mummifying one of their classmates! ⚰🧻

We learned about each step and why they were so important. We then used this knowledge to write a set of instructions in our English lesson.

Year 4/3 worked hard to place historical events chronologically on a time line. We started in the prehistoric time period and went right the way to present day. We were able to understand when World War 1 began and which events happened before and after the war. #HistoryatWelbeck

Year 6 have been making a great start in their new topic ‘Crime and Punishment’ by researching The Great Train Robbery of 1963. Today we used our retrieval, inference and deduction skills to analyse the key evidence and suspect profiles in the police case file. #HistoryatWelbeck #EnglishatWelbeck
