Hyderabad, Sep 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) Heavy rain lashed parts of Greater Hyderabad in Telangana on Tuesday evening, inundating roads and disrupting vehicular traffic. The rain, under the impact of a cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal, flooded the roads in several areas, causing traffic snarls during peak time. There was a massive traffic jam at the Sheikhpet flyover due to the overflow of storm water drain. Techies returning home from HITEC City and Gachibowli were caught in the jam. Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) went on alert following 3.3 centimetres of rainfall.

Lorena Wiebes remained unstoppable in the finale of the Lloyd's Tour of Britain stage 2. The stage was hectic, with a diversion and a neutralisation, and despite a late solo attack by Ode Gissinger of Hitec Products-Fluid Control, the peloton came to the finish together. Maggie Coles-Lyster (Human Powered Health) finished second, and Kim Le Court-Pienaar (AG Insurance-Soudal) sprinted to third. With her second stage win in as many days, Wiebes extended her lead overall to 14 seconds over Chiara Consonni of Canyon-SRAM. Conditions for stage 2 were wet and cold, and the impact of the weather on the peloton was made worse when the race was paused with 74 km to go near the base of the Nick O'Pendle ascent, the second of two categorised climbs for the stage. The race stop was due to a traffic accident, but with the conditions as they were, the decision was made to neutralise the climb and intermediate sprint and restart the race with**** 65 km**** remaining. Katrine Aalerud had been solo off the front of the bunch with a 50-second advantage, and the Uno-X Mobility rider was given the same gap when the race restarted. Aalerud was caught with 42 km to go, and the race reset. There was a flurry of attacks, and Gissinger set out in the final 27 km for a solo effort. She was brought back with 4.5 km remaining as SD Worx-Protime set the peloton up for another sprint. The third stage is 104 km long with 1,927 metres of climbing, the most of the race so far before the Queen stage on Saturday. Friday's stage finishes with a 2.6 km long, punchy climb.
