Jeremy Saulnier is one of the best of his generation. #BlueRuin, #GreenRoom, #MurderParty… tonight I’m halfway thru #HoldTheDark and am transfixed in the tension between tears and terror… SO GOOD 🙌🔥🎥📽️
I have almost no patience with action movies, so I put on Rebel Ridge tonight thinking I'd last 20 minutes and then move on to something else. Nope. It's one of the best-made, most grounded action movies I've seen in ages. Thought-through, beautifully paced and plotted, and Aaron Pierre is a star.

374"24 #HoldTheDark Saulnier trademark of gory shocking violence is here. You really need to settle in for the ride or it's just gonna come off as a mess. Nothing makes sense & yet it does to some extent. No hand holding. Solid ensemble with standout from Julian Black Antelope.

Hold the Dark (2018)
“Aucun homme ni dieu”
★★☆☆

Watched #HoldTheDark Friday...and I’m still thinking about it. It’s been a while since a film dominated my thoughts so thoroughly days after the credits rolled.

#HoldTheDark is another interesting piece of pulpy genre cinema from Jeremy Saulnier. The Alaskan wilderness is such a beautiful location as well; Magnus Nordenhof Jønck’s cinematography is terrific. #Film2018
