Fun fact about me: When I was eleven I was locked up in the house alone all day, every day, until my parents were home from work after 5.
This is probably why I am the way I am and also why homeschooling should be fucking illegal.

I keep getting Insta ads for an unregulated online Islamic homeschool that costs £7000 a year.
One, glad they're wasting their money to advertise to me - a childless poof.
But two, this is absolutely why homeschooling should be banned. That site gloats about limiting your child's "exposure".

Just ban homeschooling and religious schooling. Kids don't care about religion unless they are forced to, and the place they learn about the world and learn how to act with others in a pluralistic society should be the one place absolutely free from religious indoctrination.

my still developing brain. I'd say that these days somebody would have called CPS, except nobody knew I was there. Who even could have called? I was a child, and an isolated one. No school, no friends, no social life. This is one of many reasons why I don't think homeschooling should be legal.

I think homeschooling should only be legal in very specific circumstances. My kid had to homeschool for 8th grade bc she was on meds that weakened her immune system. She used an online school program, but I also hired a tutor bc I’m a giant dumdum, no way could I help her with math.

o governo não sabe que a criança existe basicamente... e aí eles fazem homeschooling ou tem escolas próprias, oq piora toda a situação. e eu só consigo pensar que essa falta da presença do estado (com todos os problemas que eu comunista tenho com ele lol) que permite que eles possam fazer tudo isso

Who put them in sports or make sure they have activities. I had a parent with social anxiety who grew more & more reclusive over time, & my opportunities to socialize were swallowed up because of it. I do think some people can & do come out of homeschooling ok, but precious few. And importantly,
