#Honorius
I wonder if it felt like this in the later Roman Empire, listening to Elagabalus or Honorius giving a speech.
Trump tells the UN he is officially changing the name of Artificial Intelligence to "Super Intelligence" and says all US government documents will now be changed to refer to "SI"

I spent most of the day writing on Honorius, so a good time to bring up Maria’s pendant:

HONORI MARIA SERHNA VIVATIS STELICHO: “Honorius, Maria, Serena, Stilicho, may you live!"

Also a mention on back of her sister, Thermantia, forced to be Honorius’ 2nd wife. collections.louvre.fr/en/ark:/5335...

Christ man, at this point maybe Honorius did mistake Rome for one of his chickens and it wasn't some literary metaphor

this is our version of when honorius got rome sacked by organizing a pogrom against the families of his own gothic soldiers
I have gotten confirmation from sources inside the Coast Guard that this is in fact true and happened in Key West.

ICE went into military housing and took the spouse of a USCG member who is currently out to sea.
🚨🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS: Was just passed this from a fellow service academy grad. A Coast Guard Academy graduate posted this. They are reporting that ICE entered base housing and took a USCG spouse. I can’t confirm this but I’m calling for answers from the Coast Guard and Congress. This is unacceptable.

Apse mosaic in the church of Sant'Agnese fuori le Mura in #Rome (7th c.). Agnes is dressed in a jewel encrusted robe and a crown. She stands on a fire with a sword at her feet, symbols of her martyrdom. Pope Honorius and (possibly) Pope Gregory the Great stand next to her.

Roman gold coin pendant
Found Sutton Hoo, Suffolk

Evidence for lingering prestige of Roman Empire. 🤔

The gold was not melted down in the 7th Century, the coin was kept & refashioned into a pendant.

The coin depicts the Western Roman Emperor Honorius, 395 - 423 CE.
