I just had housecleaners in to restore some vestige of order after a month of the puppy and it will cost me a shit-ton of money. like my tax bill, this is correct and good even though I'm kind of grudging about it.

So many housecleaners in LA have just lost all their clients.
Most of these cleaners are mexicana or chapina and many don't have papers.
If you know anyone in need of domestic work because of the fires, let me know and i'll try to find folks who need regular work done.

I couldn't figure out why both cats are still pissed. Turns out the housecleaners cleaned...under the bed. I mean, everything came out. A year's worth of my cats turning the space into a Thunderdome playground of shirts & pillows & socks & torn toilet paper is now gone.

👍 Back when I cleaned vacation rentals, I'd always air them out thoroughly for the next guest, and of course wear a mask as I worked. None of the other housecleaners did either one. Never assume a vacation rental has good air.

A nation of people who don't currently pay for human housecleaners to occasionally visit their home and do an excellent job will definitely rush out en masse to pay $20,000 plus God knows what monthly costs (support, insurance, maintenance, power) for a robot that can maybe vacuum and almost dust.
