Read from right to left! Been rereading #houseoffiveleaves😊 When Matsu's a hostage and Masa got hired as the kidnapper's yojimbo, when Masa assures Matsu that he will come back to save him, I noticed that when Masa says this, Matsu has blood on this face, and the next page.. the blood is gone :3
1 of 2 pages of a short comic about Matsu and Masa from House of Five Leaves. This page has 5 panels that are read from right to left, like Japanese comics. Panel 1: Matsu is shown with his head lowered and his eyes closed. He has bruises on his cheekbone and brow and there is blood coming from his nose and a cut in his lip. There are beads of sweat on his skin and he has stubble. From off screen, Masa says "you are bleeding, Matsukichi-dono" Panel 2: from off screen Masa says "uh, forgive me," as he lifts Matsu's chin with his index finger. Matsu looks at him with his usual annoyed frown, but there's also shame and exhaustion in his expression. Panel 3: Masa looks at Matsu with a shy and sad expression and says nothing. Panel 4: Masa says "I will be back in a moment." the panel shows Masa's feet walking away, and Matsu's lower half. He sits on the ground with one leg tucked up a little and the other underneath it. Panel 5: Masa returns with a bowl that he puts on the ground. The 2nd of 2 pages of a short comic about Matsu and Masa from House of Five Leaves. This page has 4 panels that are read from right to left, like Japanese comics. Panel 1: Masa's hands are shown wringing water out of a cloth. Panel 2: Matsu sits cross legged, Masa is kneeling in front of him, holding out the wet cloth. He asks "may I?" Matsu frowns, like he wants to say no. Panel 3: a close up of the two. Matsu has lifted his head anyway. He looks to the side with a self conscious frown while Masa gently dabs away the blood, with an expression of focus. Panel 4: Masa turns away, presumably to put the cloth back in the bowl and says "there..." Now that Masa is turned away, Matsu looks at Masa with a softer expression. Two pages from House of Five Leaves, it's read from right to left. The first page has 5 panels. Panel 1: Matsu is shown from the chest up, looking worse for wear. From off screen Masa says "please trust me, Matsukichi-dono" Panel 2: Masa is fiddling with rope and says "I know because I am the one asking, it may be a difficult request." Panel 3: Masa is kneeling in front of Matsu and continues "but please, just this once." Panel 4: Matsu is shown, he looks exhausted. Panel 5: Masa is holding the rope up and says "Tonight I will return and save you." Page two has three panels. Panel 1: the exterior of the building where Matsu is held captive. Panel 2: Matsu is tied to a pole. Panel 3: a close up of Matsu, looking more tired than ever.

I saw a pose I liked and doodled Masa with his boyfriends and then I coloured the doodle :) Pretty much the same pose, different vibes
#HouseofFiveLeaves #SaraiyaGoyou
A digitally coloured black pen drawing of Masa and Yaichi from House of Five Leaves. They're half lying down and Masa is sort of cradling Yaichi, while burying his face in Yaichi's chest. Yaichi is clinging onto Masa and presses his face against Masa's. A digitally coloured drawing of Matsu and Masa from House of Five Leaves. The pose is pretty much the same as the previously described pose, but the vibe is different. Matsu is in Masa's place, but he is clinging onto Masa, not cradling him. Masa is in Yaichi's place, but he's caressing Matsu, not clinging onto him and looks fondly at Matsu.

Birds! QRP with your bird art 🐦‍⬛

#houseoffiveleaves #saraiyagoyou #criticalrole #criticalrolefanart
A digital sketch of Matsu from House of Five Leaves as an anthopomorphic bird. He sits on something invisible with one leg pulled up. He looks over his shoulder and holds a hairpin. He's wearing his green striped kimono with one arm/wing uncovered. His expression is neutral. A coloured pencil drawing of Caliana Mordsson and Kiri from Critical Role. Kiri is sitting sideways on Caliana's lap and, looking up at her with a cheerful smile, says "you are so cute." The speech bubble has a multi coloured brim, indicating that this is copied spreech, most likely from Caliana herself. She holds a dagger close to her chest. Caliana looks down at Kiri and has the fingertips of both her hands - or rather of her hand and claw - on the sides of her chin in delight. Because she bends forwards slightly, her hair that normally covers the dragon side of her face now shows a peek of a yellow eye and green scales. In the background some greenery and most of the Mighty Nein is visible. They are just talking amongst themselves.

Masa disapproves

I imagine post canon there are moments where Yaichi lashes out and tries to provoke Masa, bc he feels guilty and undeserving of Masa's kindness - and Masa's response often is just. this. for a hot uncomfortable second, and then moves on

#saraiyagoyou #houseoffiveleaves
A digitally coloured grey pencil drawing of Yaichi and Masa from House of Five Leaves. Yaichi is shown on the left side of the page, looking up. His expression is angry and uneasy. On the left side is Masa, looking down. His expression is stern and disapproving.

When Yaichi & the cat are together, the cat just stares at him. The 1st panel is a redraw of one of the last panels from a scene; the reader leaves with Masa and Bunnosuke and Yaichi stays behind. This is what I imagine happens after that <3
#HouseofFiveLeaves #saraiyagoyou #inktober #inktober2025
The first of a two page black ink comic of Yaichi and the calico cat from House of Five Leaves. This page has three panels. Panel one: Yaichi sits just outside a house with his back toward the viewer. Just inside, starting at him, sits a calico cat. Panel two: the cat meows. Panel three: Yaichi looks over his shoulder at the cat, who looks back up at him as it walks past him. The second of a two page black ink comic of Yaichi and the calico cat from House of Five Leaves. This page has one panel. The cat lounges on Yaichi's lap and Yaichi tentatively pets it.

Happy Valentines day! I felt like spending a lot of time on my favourite rare pair 💖 It's missing one drawing imo, but I lost patience lol

#HouseofFiveLeaves #SaraiyaGoyou

maybe I'll draw the smooch some time 🥰
A coloured pencil drawing of Masa and Matsu from House of Five Leaves. They're shown from the waist up, facing each other. Masa has his thumb and index finger under Matsu's chin. He's blushing but smiles softly. They're looking at each other's lips. A coloured pencil drawing of Matsu and Masa from House of Five Leaves. They're shown from the chest up in relatively the same position as the previously described drawing, but Matsu is now holding Masa's hand, their faces are closer. Masa's head is a little tilted, his eyes are closed and he's still blushing, like he's about to kiss Matsu. Or he's waiting for Matsu to kiss him. Matsu is kind of waiting too, but he looks at Masa fondly.

In the back of the #HouseofFiveLeaves manga, there's a bit that explains that the grouping Matsu/pine, Take/bamboo, Ume/plum is called Shochikubai and is considered to be a symbol of good fortune. They're the Three Friends of Winter 💖Anyway, I felt like drawing them in pretty kimonos
#SaraiyaGoyou
A digital drawing of Matsu, Otake and Ume from House of Five Leaves. Matsu and Otake are sitting next to each other and Ume facing them, on a slightly higher surface. Both Matsu and Ume are looking at Otake, who seems to be telling them something. She presses her finger thoughtfully against her chin. All are smiling warmly and are wearing patterned kimonos. Matsu has a dark red kimono with green gold and pink pine trees. Otake has a blue kimono with pink and blue bamboo. Ume has a beige kimono with flowering plum tree branches. They're sitting outside at night, lit by a flew oval lanterns.

Heyy another redraw - and style swap this time! I don't know if I've ever (intentionally) done a style swap before. I love Yamato in Ono Natsume's art style (*fans self*), but Masa in Kishimoto's looks kind of wrong to me 🤔 Still cute though :)

#narutofanart #houseoffiveleaves #saraiyagoyou
Two black and washed ink drawings. The top one of Yamato from Naruto in Ono Natsume's art style, and the bottom one of Masa from House of Five Leaves in Masashi Kishimoto's style. They are both shown from the shoulders up in three quarters view. Yamato has just taken off his anbu mask and smiles self-assuredly and Masa looks a little timid.

I'm trying to like drawing again, so I redrew a few #HouseofFiveLeaves panels/screenshots. I used to do that a lot :) I'll tentatively say it seems to be working #SaraiyaGoyou
A watercolour and black ink drawing of Ane-san and Yaichi from House of Five Leaves. Yaichi is shown in the foreground, at the right side of the frame, smiling with his eyes closed. He looks relaxed. Ane-san is in the background, looking over her shoulder and smiling at him fondly. The drawing has a warm atmosphere. A watercolour redraw of a frame from the House of Five Leaves anime, showing Masa comforting Yaichi, who is crying in Masa's lap. A digitally coloured grey pencil sketch of Yaichi and Masa from House of Five Leaves. It's a redraw of two panels from the final chapter, where Yaichi looks all beat up and sickly and Masa greets him with a warm smile.

Yrs ago drew Matsu finding Yaichi dressed as a women. Something Katsuraya's girls did for entertainment, tho maybe it sparked something in Yaichi. So yea I hc him as genderfluid & I love the idea of Matsu being the one to discover and quietly support this post canon💖 #houseoffiveleaves #saraiyagoyou
The first of a 3 page, black and white comic about Yaichi and Matsu from House of Five Leaves. This page has 4 panels. Panel 1: Yaichi and Matsu are sitting together, Matsu tells Yaichi: "Ichi-san, I have something for you" Panel 2: Matsu turns away to get that something, Yaichi smiles says: "oh, goodie." Panel 3: Yaichi waits, his air relaxed and nonchalant. Matsu holds something small, long and narrow in his hand, that's wrapped in cloth. He says: "it's..." Panel 4: a close up of Matsu's hand shows the object unwrapped. It's a hairpin decorated with a maple leaf. The second of a 3 page comic about Yaichi and Matsu from House of Five Leaves. This page has 4 panels. Panel 1: Yaichi's demeanour has changed from nonchalance to shock. He says "a hairpin?" Panel 2: Yaichi covers his face and he seems to shiver. It's unclear if he's laughing or crying. Panel 3: Matsu looks down with a sad smile and says: "ah" Panel 4: He looks up with the same sad smile and continues: "it's fine, if you don't like it" The third of a 3 page comic about Yaichi and Matsu from House of Five Leaves. This page has 4 panels. Panel 1: Yaichi says "no," grabs Matsu's wrist and takes the hair pin. Panel 2 to 4 are close ups of Yaichi's hand, moving his thumb over the maple leaf decoration. in the last panel he says: "it's beautiful, Matsu, thank you." Both are smiling softly.

Another old #Inktober sketch! I have to say, this one was probably the most important for me to finish. I love drawing and writing Otake and Matsu's friendship.. I like the idea of Matsu being the person she opens up to at some point, and vice versa 💖

A digital drawing of Matsu and Ume from House of Five Leaves. It's a simple, black and white line-art drawing. The two are shown in bird's view. Ume is only seen from the nose up, but he looks super grumpy and has his back turned to Matsu. Matsu is sitting on the floor shielding a few bowls of food from Ume. He has big bags under his eyes, and stubble on his face. He also looks very annoyed. A digital drawing of Okinu and Matsu from House of Five Leaves. It's a simple, black and white line-art drawing. The two are shown from the chest up, sitting next to each other. Okinu is closer to the viewer. She has her arms around her legs and smiles happily with her eyes closed. Matsu looks at her shocked, with an entire fish sticking out of his mouth. A digital drawing of Ume and Matsu from House of Five Leaves. It's a simple, black and white line-art drawing. Ume is shown from the nose up and there's a thought bubble floating above his head. The thought bubble contains an image of Matsu, shown from the shoulders up. He is seemingly shirtless and he blows a kiss and winks at the viewer. Ume looks a little flushed.
