The idea that we r a chosen species causes us 2 act as if natural resources r here 4 us 2 use w/o regard/regard to consequences instead of somethin we need to b mindful of & work in harmony w/

I love that my game's lore structure allows me to put a direct statement of artistic intent in the text. This is what protecting the sacred means in my TTRPG. This is what the game is about, protecting those things that support life.

One of my oldest pet peeves in fiction, dating back to childhood, is overly humancentric animal symbolism. Scorpions, snakes, vultures, etc. are bad because humans don't like them, regardless of what they actually do. Lame! Get out of your own heads, humans! That's the whole fun of writing animals!

Honestly? I hope that if we ever find other intelligent life out there, this sort of thing could actually happen. We could get over our humancentric, eurocentric, ableist beauty standards and open our minds to new possibilities.

Playing as Renegade however almost always leans into Shepard being a fascist cop reinforcing state power and the status quo, or advancing a openly humancentric agenda. In the first game, when a reporter dares question them, the player can choose to knock them to the ground.
