Love this sign from the Glasgow-based street artist A Sign of Humour on Pacific Quay in Glasgow, with the Glasgow Tower and Science Centre in the background.

Somehow seems right the best appreciation of In Our Time - and Bragg - is in the New Yorker. Captures the hunour if it - especially thosr abrupt intros. www.newyorker.com/culture/podc...
Escape the News with the British Podcast “In Our Time with Melvyn Bragg”
“In Our Time” feels aligned with the eternal rather than the temporal, and is therefore escapist without being junk.

For me, the english comic Viz is the peak of this. Just absolute toilet hunour mixed with references to poetry and writing that I haven't got a hope of getting

Ir A Piece of the Action without the charm, wit, hunour, or frankly sense.
This is a "Surreal" one of tha landing party trapped in an alien created recreation of a bad 20th century novel.

So, basically a holodeck episode without the holodeck.

There are times where I have seriously messed up thoughts and begin to worry about myself.

Then I remember that Stephan King is paid to have these thoughts and I feel much better.

Poilievre calls the lobbyist that ran Stephen Harper and Doug Ford's campaigns a Liberal. And people sayPoilievre has no sense of hunour!
On criticism from a former Harper spox that blowing a 25 point lead and being 10 points down is “campaign malpractice”

Poilievre says “Liberals and lobbyists” want him to stop talking about issues like food prices, housing, crime, opioids and the Lost Liberal Decade

“I’m not going to do that.”
Pierre Poilievre is up first today with an announcement at Ontario shipyards.

He’s announcing a “Canada First Economic Action Plan,” modelled after Harper’s from 2008/09.

Whatever Sofie, this is what is up: What you do is showing people: Yeah its bad, Yeah its painfull but there is also a human with hope, hunour, joy and love. You do not become a helpless plant, it can be treated.

And i think people, not as mentally strong, can find their own peace in it and hope.

Craig Ferguson (THE PHYSICAL HUNOUR AND THE CONCAVE TALK SHOW BANTER) and Florence Pugh
(Though the Cruikshank reveal gave me a LITERAL jumpscare cause I thought George Clooney was in the movie for a sec)
This week, @ellenbyronla.bsky.social is here for Silver Screen Sleuths! We're talking about one of the greatest comedy capers/sexiest whodunits of the 1960s: CHARADE, starring Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant, and a cavalcade of character actors that can't be matched. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VtO...

The wit, charm and jokes of You're Fired with its studio audience and unseen moments has been replaced with a hunour-free low-budget podcast. #TheApprentice #UnfinishedBusiness is so bad it's remaining Unfinished... I've switched off

Sifting through my Christmas photo collection tonight I came across an image of a joke found in a Christmas Cracker.

I've been slowly rewatching Dan Vs when I just need something in English to fill 30 minutes. Each episode makes me more and more sad this got cancelled after three seasons. The hunour is simultaneously wacky and dark in a way shows targeting a younger audience usually can't be.

Oh this is my favourite. Loved it, just btilliant. Full of music and hunour, magic and fantasy, a quest narrative that does different things wuth fabulous descriptions to end in a lovely way. Just the best fantasy story ive read in a while.

I would argue this is worse. Not defending RPO, but i actually read thru the damn thing and it wasnt saturated with millennial cringe hunour. I got about 100 pages into dungeon crawler carl and just straight up could not continue.
