One of the philosophical issues I have with Secret Empire is the original Steve actually stays evil? The “good” Rogers was created by Kobik; HydraCap is the OG Steve with his past changed by cosmic cube shenanigans. It seems to think the conflict afterwards is “evil guy who looked like me was bad”

I love #MCU movies and I look forward Doomsday. However, I am not sure why people think Steve Rogers is HydraCap. HydraCap cannot lift the hammer... My take is that the shadow behind Cap is Loki who brought a Rogers' variant to help. So the "that's not possible" is about Thor seeing Loki alive.

1. He’s Captain America for most of the movie, probably side-by-side with Sam, but towards the end, he betrays the team and reveals himself to be HydraCap, possibly as a setup for all the original six Avengers to be bad guys in Secret Wars, alongside RDJ’s Doom.

I hope we get him as HydraCap because tbh that storyline in the comics was a good idea about how symbols become corrupted and the dark underbelly of the American ideal, with decidedly mixed execution and I think the movies might be able to do that better.

We also have to remember that HydraCap coincided with the rise of ComicsGate, *PLUS* it probably wasn't planned as *that* long term of a storyline and it was the central narrative.
The Paul stuff seemed to just exist to appeal Wells, and they did try to downplay it as much as they could.
