i think the masculinity and femininity are not "things that exist" but rather feminization is a process applied downstream of masculinism, and intentional subversions to passive feminization generate both "machinic-hyperfemininity" (drag, femme, etc) & "lez/fag masculinity" (butch, fae, etc)

But yes, the perceived hyperfemininity can exist at the same time as being painted a threat. A lot of people have difficulties understanding this tho and think these two things are mutually exclusive. They are not.
