the closest thing to actual help and care i’ve received has been from my pelvic floor PT who is awesome, younger and more educated on current research around autoimmune disease, chronic pain and hypermobility. everyone else i’ve seen is the pits and i’ve seen like 20+ doctors in 3 years

just a guess as someone with marfanoid habitus cEDS but maybe bc before the last few years, the collagen disorder associated with hypermobility that most people have heard of was marfan’s, which usually IS the purview of tall skinny people?

turns out, knee/IT band pain (the exact tendon that hurts all the time) can be common with hypermobility/EDS 💀 sometimes my right knee aches too, but for other reasons/not bc of an injury

glad i'm not just going crazy, but great, another thing i just have to manage for the rest of my life 🤸‍♂️

Nothing says "ADHD plus hypermobility" like trying to explain how you are sitting and consulting a yoga blog for examples.

I study somatics and I'm personally taking PT for hypermobility

This is not only the most fucked up posture I've ever seen, but this is also an indicator of his narcissistic tendencies

Your head position can change your mental frame. Head forward = constantly *in your head*

Hypermobility feels like such a shit name for something - makes it sound like a superpower but it's actually kind of a pain in the ass to deal with from what I've been told.

Omg thank you!!!! The small pros of hypermobility and lugging around suitcases beforehand meant I was very warmed up haha 🤣 I'm fully resting today though omg

Sounds like one of those “I only do Hypermobility in skinny white girls” kind of doctors

omg you guys
I saw a rheumatologist yesterday that supposedly did hypermobility and got told there was nothing she could do for me and also losing weight would stop the arthritis in my knee, that I'm pretty sure doesn't even exist, i don't think she should be allowed to say she does hypermobility

I mean, they’ve capped up Hypermobility and Physiotherapist throughout so it would go a lot faster if people learned basic grammar.

hypermobility… you can spend ten hours a week training to be stronger and still experience constant pain from such radical acts as “standing up” or “sitting”

Thanks Snowy, it’s too much to deal with. Nasty cyclical depression since I was 17, I get v. depressed in October/November & mildly high in May/June. My life already has too many challenges I’m being investigated for Behçet's & also diagnosed with ADHD hypermobility & FND. Don’t need this atm.

Its the hypermobility and bad joints more than anything else, standing up ironing for a long time makes me feel odd

He has the posture of someone who sits looking at his phone all day and probably has an unaddressed hypermobility disorder.

The fix is unglamorous: a patient-specific dossier that maps the symptom clusters, prioritizes the referrals, and justifies each one with validated instruments — Beighton for the hypermobility, COMPASS-31 for the autonomic load, CSI for the central sensitization.

it happened while flossing but i don't know why it happened. i have weird goblin teeth, and their condition might be linked to whatever hypermobility/EDS condition i might have, or my food allergies. but i've always struggled with my teeth.

I’ve lost quite a lot of dexterity and fine motor because of how my hypermobility has progressed in my hands - everything I do with them hurts. Even waving my hands to say hi wiggles my joints around a lot! Very unpleasant. Holding a pen, buttoning shirts, pressing buttons, typing - it all sucks

Thank you! They’re called ring splints. There are bunch of different types for different needs like trigger and hammer fingers, arthritis, and more specifically hypermobility. They act as stabilization and prevent the joints from hyperextension and by proxy dislocation. You can see the difference:

i have hypermobility but the specific disorder isn't diagnosed yet, and yeah no this is just part of it. my baseline of 2/10 pain is john normal's 6/10. bitches like us just tank shit because what the fuck else are we supposed to do? it took sciatica so bad i couldn't walk right to get me to the ER
September 28, 2026 at 5:54 PM
sorry it gunked up your stuff! my number one best friends for sleep that turned all my shit around is magnesium glycinate + nightly chamomile tea + LOW DOSE melatonin + preggo pillow for hypermobility stabilization (might not be a problem for you but if you're bendy its a god send)

But what am I not doing instead?

Tell you what, it's also a good one to say to a manager putting more work on you.
