Well hot damn!

Modulation works pretty nice. This is just mod wheel on the comb stride parameter.

MusiKraken is a really, really nice expressive control for Hyphasia. I'm using it to prototype the built-in performance interface I'll use for the iPad app.

After much pain, I've got the main UI panel whipped into shape. Taking up a little bit less space horizontally, but *way* less space vertically. Also unified the layout for the randomized parameters so the randomness slider is a popup when you click the dice button. It reads much better.

Feeling really excited about my synth, Hyphasia. I've only implemented the two most basic emitter types and already I'm getting excellent sounds. Lot of things to tune and dial in. Lot more ideas to realize.

Spent some time with the MIDI specs. Especially the MPE specs. Yeah, Hyphasia is gonna support full MPE out of the box.

To put this in perspective: it'll support MPE. It'll also support infinite polyphony on 16 independent MIDI channels w/ 5 timbres.

I don't know why I didn't try it earlier, but I just fired up Hyphasia on my partner's computer.

She's got an AMD RX 570. That's a mid-range GPU from 2017.

Standalone runs *perfectly*.

So apparently I've been overestimating GPU requirements.

Heh, so it turns out that MIDI 2.0 and Hyphasia already have exactly the same note event model.

And some half-assed research shows JUCE has preliminary support for MIDI 2.0 packets.

So I'm probably gonna add that in parallel to the 1.0 input track.

Fast pitch bends on sine waves at certain frequencies are scratchy. The frequency sweep itself is smooth... but the wave-swap grit is bad.

With a more full spectrum instead of sines, the noise is not really audible. But I have to mitigate this.
