New cost estimates have revealed that the funding gap on Washington and Oregon's joint megaproject to widen I-5 between the two states has grown to anywhere from $5 billion to $13 billion. The project as we know it is likely doomed.

I'm a fan of IBR
But given the billions in taxpayer $$$$$$$ being blown on ICE, Argentina bailouts, etc -- I'm also a fan of just making college free at this point

A smarter model for paying for college: income-based repayment. You start paying your student loans only once you earn enough to comfortably get by. That turns higher ed debt into something more like a tax surcharge on success, not a choke collar on people who are struggling.
