Kash was going to do the classic thing everyone who slept through ICS 200 but still somehow got responsibility, and conflate their authority and position with qualification and information to be the incident commander.

it's why FEMA says don't do this *5* times in it, and then more in 300.
I got a question, what did cash and friends think that they were gonna do, like, heroically charge the shooter themselves??

Staff were told this during a meeting today.

There are about 300 SROs at ICs. Of those, 130 will be absorbed by CSR, which employs ~250 SROs right now.

This is not in my area of expertise and I can’t comment directly on the proposed changes to the NIH grant review process. However, I immediately get suspicious when I read passages like this, which compare apples and giraffes in an attempt to argue for efficiency.

Numbers here are def not adding up #NIH “According to an analysis of FY24 data, CSR uses 0.3% of the NIH budget to review more than 66,000 applications annually. In comparison, review costs in the ICs average about 300% of CSR’s costs.” How can 22% of grant reviews cost 300%? 🫣
Well I do not trust this one bit
NIH just posted this news announcement.

"Today the National Institutes of Health is announcing plans to centralize peer review of all applications for grants, cooperative agreements and research and development contracts within the agency’s Center for Scientific Review (CSR)"

Sigh. And the ICS/fomoterol first line inhalers now recommended are still $300-400 out of pocket

Nothing like a good ICS 300 class to open some eyes on the need for collaboration.

- All other optical components and ICs can be purchased for ~$300. The supply chain recovered and it actually feels feasible again to start a major OSHW project :3

In 1991, the Space Shuttle upgraded its computer to the AP-101S, replacing two 60-pound boxes with one box. With five computers on the Shuttle, this change freed up 300 pounds for additional cargo. The CPU was implemented in three boards full of chips, much larger than the earlier 4 Pi boards.

Interesting rhetorical flourish: "According to an analysis of FY24 data, CSR uses 0.3% of the NIH budget to review more than 66,000 applications annually. In comparison, review costs in the ICs average about 300% of CSR’s costs." www.nih.gov/news-events/...

For SMD components, I am using mouse toilets. They are pretty small, good to label and hold like >300 0805 components or 20 SO-14 ICs in one compartment. They are also available as ESD version.

Not sure what you mean. This move is consistent with firing ~300 review officers at individual ICs.

Initial amount of the levy will be determined, but ICS suggests that it would fall in the range of $60-300/tonne. Unlike most carbon tax policy proposals, the fee would not ratchet upwards automatically on a set implementation timetable through 2050.

I made a thing. Clock generator module, feed it 5 volts and you get three to 300 Hertz with clock and inverted clock outputs. Single shot mode for stepping through one cycle at a time. Single 555 and a 74HC00 quad 2-input NAND. Based on both Ben Water and Ian Ward's work.
