making small web tools for me to use out and about is much harder because i have to make sure they work on IE9 and over 2G for my ancient unc-tier smartphone
it also means what i end up making will be 🚀 blazingly fast and incredibly responsive 🚀 on a modern machine and a fast connection

personally i find black boxes fascinating. my rare skill when i did web dev was being able to outsmart ie6 bugs. once ie9 came out web dev was too boring so i moved to android (after a few years' detour in infosec)
