#IEEE488
That brings back memories. I notice it has an IEEE488 connector that allows it to remotely control instrumentation. Also known as HPIB or GPIB.

That's not HPIB/GPIB/IEEE488 nor "Centronics"

One day I'll get an IEEE488 interface for my PC or I'll be forced to use my 4016 pet. :-)

Un nouvel ordinateur portable dans la collection #silicium ? Et non.
Ce n'est qu'un analyseur au format #IEEE488. Mais il a un certain style non ?

This is a fab find, lovely working HP 3438A Digital Multimeter I plan to put to some good use!
Spotted the HP-IB interface port around the back so now I'm on the lookout for the Acorn IEEE488 cheese wedge interface so I can hook it up to one of my BBCs!

It’s a Wang 600 programmable calculator. It had an IEEE488 interface and I used it to control a calibration system.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to make my way through the IEEE-488 / GBIP protocol, esp. the sequence for OPEN with regard to Commodore BASIC, for the umpteen time.

I've read this a few times and every time I'm ready to implement it, I already forgot some details…

It's on Github: github.com/Vanders/pet

I also started on a disc drive emulator with a complete IEEE488 bus emulation but I never finished it or "wired" it into the PET emulator (github.com/Vanders/cbm2...)

Most of the blame is on the terrible serial bus protocol that Commodore hacked together at the last second. (If you use a PET IEEE488 interface, it's fast.) The protocol was entirely CPU driven, and the VIC-II would halt the CPU for about 40μs every video refresh so each serial bit must be 60μs long
