AT Protocol is getting an IETF Working Group
Some very exciting news - it looks like the working group for AT Protocol at the IETF has been approved! (though not formalized in the datatracker just yet)
This is a big milestone in the standards process. But is also just the start of the actual process - years of meetings & work ahead!

very excited to share this update about bringing AT to the IETF!
last week we uploaded two drafts to the IETF datatracker and today we heard that we’re approved to host a Birds of a Feather at IETF 124 (the formal meeting towards establishing a working group)

Last week we posted two drafts to the IETF Data Tracker. This is the first major step towards standardizing parts of AT in an effort to establish long-term governance for the protocol.

ATProto is now in IETF standardization process. BOF stage passed at IETF 124 Dublin. Working group formation is next.

Every calendar on the internet uses CalDAV which was submitted to IETF in 2007 and is still considered a proposed standard.

Kicking off the ATP Working Group at the IETF - AT Protocol
The Authenticated Transfer Protocol working group has been created at the IETF. Now that we have a charter, we are looking forward to participation from the broader ATP ecosystem.
