That said, R does support IIFEs which helps to manage scope..

How? By dealing with PIFEs and optimizing for the v8 engine, also coming to Oxc 👀

This PR changes the generated code to use PIFE for callbacks passed to __esmMin wrapper. This improved the start up runtime performance by 2.1x in the case I tested.

I think as long as something implements PromiseLike it should apply. This is where I often hit this 😅: github.com/dsherret/dax...
ignoreVoid: true could be a lint rule and with ignoreIIFE, async IIFEs are rare, so just add void.

AFAIK reservoir management, extending useful iifes, well control is more of an engineering, measurement and cost/benefit problem than a data-processing problem, isnt it ?

I do not pass, i will not pass, but i probably wont even after any physical transition because I AMMMM A GAY MAN! AND EVERY PASSING TIP IS FOR BEING A STRAIGHT CIS MAN! IM GAAAAAY AS HELL, i'm fruity and alternative and dramatic and artsy!!!! Iifes hard!!! But can we all lighten tf up sometimes!

You can also do this for IIFEs (which have a similar restriction to avoid ambiguity with FunctionDeclaration) but there's less reason to care in that case.
