#INEQUITY
Oh, so much this!! Fuck so-called progressive governments who only maintain a status quo rooted in inequity.

There is no problem, no challenge, no inequity, no injustice, that can’t be solved — however slowly and imperfectly in practice — with democracy. There are very few that can be solved without it.

Go vote.

In general, I like my job (NTT faculty at an R2). The work is manageable. The students are smart and engaged. My colleagues are kind. But, as a person whose work focuses on the social dynamics that shape women's lives, the inequity between TT and NTT faculty members is impossible to ignore.

and at the ballot initiative level we're about to enshrine that inequity into law permanently

AI models can take up to 17 times more tokens to process non-Latin scripts than English, saddling users with a steep "tokenizer tax"

On one hand, allowing personal devices can be a major class inequity issue, on the other, I have a LOT of problems with them disallowing personal devices in school which start with making our children even less safe during school shootings.

And if one looks at the inequity in property taxes, one will likely find those on the lower end of the scale are paying more per acre than those in the wealthier neighborhoods.

1/ Are non-native authors underrepresented in philosophy? Our paper, now out (OA) in Research Integrity and Peer Review, is the biggest study to date on linguistic injustice in academic philosophy. We checked over 100k articles between 1975 and 2021. 🧵

Linguistic inequity in academia: evidence from publication patterns in philosophy, 1975–2021 - Research Integrity and Peer Review

A more recent vocal perspective that is left coded, which views broader and stricter traffic enforcement as likely to lead to racial inequity in punishment and consequences. This left perspective is part of why fines for speeding in US cities are very, very low

I appreciate Indego as much as anyone, but the basis of equity is availability, and after 10 years the system still does not reach all neighborhoods and has no plans to. Add costly regular prices, no daily/3-day pass, emphasis on surcharged e-bikes over normal: lack of city subsidy drives inequity

If ever there was a display of the inequity of the show, it was in those side by side comparisons of the team. Down to the fact that the winning team had 3 time mirrorball champion and world class dancer Julianne Hough as their guest and the other team had Carlton. #DWTS

@premthakker.bsky.social unpacks Netanyahu’s blatant racism against Palestinian citizens of Israel in today’s ‘First Draft.’

Thought his equation of reparations with admitting that the current generation are personally morally liable for what slaveholders did to be super weaselly tbh. Knows full well many arguments for reparations have zero to do with intergenerational sin and all to do with post-imperial global inequity

And making the case for capitalism requires you address the known “casualties” better than we do.

Inequity of wealth, social programs, more equitable participation, less corporate power. All of which poll overwhelmingly well. Until someone says “socialism” like it’s a dirty word.

I think acknowledging the inequity with the women’s division is the only way you can have an honest conversation about how far AEW has come, what they’ve lost along the way, and what they stand to gain—WOOOOO FUCK YEAH AMINATA WINS—by giving the women’a division more equitable time & attention. 🤼
trying to seriously talk about the problems in aews booking of women is just banging my head against the wall whatever

(I think Burnham is actually *using* aspects of Táíwò in his debt and climate and future stuff, but he's deliberately dodging fundamental aspects of it by making a major framing "past slavery-specific guilt reduction" rather than "ongoing processes of global inequity")

Our Department of Justice Inequity has no response?
October 27, 2026 at 2:33 AM
A Justice has happened. I feel vindicated. But I don’t feel nearly as good as the one who has been Justice’d upon feels bad. And that makes me feel AMAZING. Because it’s Scorpio Season and my neurodivergence abhors inequity.

Did you know @repdelbene.bsky.social that the transgender community is not responsible for the inequity in worker wages? Turns out, transgender people would also prefer not to work five jobs to retire poor either. Perhaps this is a better topic than maligning our community. 💜🏳️‍⚧️

Did anyone talk about the inequity of cramming all new housing on nasty arterial roads? Any talk of upzoning the side streets?

Just found out that the city is thinking of refunding community councils — something we though it was settled in 2016. This is like funding inequity. Renters need support not homeowner dominated councils who already act like gate keepers. Reach out if you want to edit an org sign on letter to oppose
