And, not a good sign for drought risks for eastern Australia, BoM notes the Indian Ocean Dipole has been in positive territory for three weeks. A +IOD is likely to develop during spring and persist into summer although models are ‘uncertain’ about its strength and duration.

Back in November, we published the new Indices of Deprivation 2025 data aggregated to MSOA level. Official figures come out for LSOAs and local authorities, but not for MSOAs.
We've noticed a lot of you have been finding and using it, so we thought we'd make it a bit more interactive.

Early forecasts in June suggested a strong IOD, but strength has reduced in recent forecasts - but still forecasting a positive IOD!

Faith in Families' multibank, now renamed Multibank Cymru, has won the Charity Sustainability Award at the Charity Times Awards in London. It is the second award of the year for the Swansea charity, after chief executive Cherrie Bija was named an IoD Wales Director of the Year in May.

The connection between temperature and heat death is depressingly well-understood. It's a pretty macabre and accurate equation.
What isn't known yet is how much other more chaotic metrics, especially rainfall, move with and because of ENSO. That'll hang on what happens with IOD, etc.
