Northsky Phase 1 (PDS Migration) will unfortunately not solve this particular issue for our users in Mississippi. IP Addresses originating from MS are being blocked by Bluesky itself at the application layer.
The most straightforward way to access your account if you're from MS is to use a VPN.

With legal challenges to this law pending, we cannot justify building the expensive required infrastructure.

Northsky Phase 1 (PDS Migration) will unfortunately not solve this particular issue for our users in Mississippi. IP Addresses originating from MS are being blocked by Bluesky itself at the application layer.

Despite the chaos, imo no gaming company is better positioned for RAMaggedon than Microsoft.
Windows remains a massive gaming platform, it and Nvidia have best built out cloud, and it has one hell of an IP and studio stockpile.
If the AI hardware apocolypse continues it works in MS' favor.

Establishing precedent is a tried and true IP lawsuit tactic. Get smaller players to collapse, have as many suits in your favor as possible by the time you're trying to take on OpenAI, MS & such. This has been the meta for IP law - copyright, trademarks, patents, etc. - for decades at this point.

This is corporate speak for "we couldn't agree on a price". MS gave a number, Ninja Theory shopped it to investors, nada. They came back with another number, MS accepted but they likely kept IP or staff that wasn't acceptable to Ninja Theory.

Microsoft has rigged the dice. If they succeed, OpenAI has to give MS $10bn in profits. If they die, Microsoft assumes all their IP/technology - and Microsoft is already building a competitor to GPT, and could be using OpenAI’s own research to do so.

Personally, I think OAI collapsing is highly likely between sama's ponziesque approach to funding and, as you noted, having given away the farm/IP to MS already.
But, like, Anthropic exists at a fraction of the scale and probably has better tech anyway?
