Aside from that, saw some interesting caveats to the game I hadn't spotted before. So for one, IWD2 has a system where ranged damage rolls are ammo based not weapon based, and you have to stock up on ammo. What's more, unlike 5e, in 3e weapon finesse requires a feat to opt in.

You'll also note that Clarice has a tiny amount of days compared to Barb - a particular quirk of IWD2 is there is no "long rest" - you heal gradually unless you have healing spells in the party which means that for many characters, a single rest to full health can be a month 😅

BG is bloody awesome, imo the best AD&D. Esp when enhanced with SCS.
Currently replaying IWD2 for the nth time -- but first time on HoF mode. Not died yet so that's something.

iwd2 is maybe the best game of all time to me i think and has been this way for many years. What an atmosphere, what a beguiling vision it presents.

Same. Played Baldur's Gate 1/2, Planescape Torment and Icewind Dale multiple times but never finished IWD2.

Yeah. I believe the source code for IWD2 was lost so unless someone wants to completely rebuild it and EE's engine we're kinda out of luck there.

I know we’ll almost assuredly never get it because all the source code is lost, but this gives me exactly 1% more hope that IWD2 will get the Beamdog EE treatment.

Played the hell out of this, BG2, Icewind Dale, IWD2 in the last few years. The enhanced editions are still a lot of fun. My first copy was on 5 CD's and the 5th disc was scratched..... 😱

You've reminded me I gotta find the time to finish this game at some point, maybe after IWD2. If you still need a member for the squad I'd go with human fighter, nothing beats that.

Finally got my stupidly modded up Baldurs Gate EE setup working, restoration+tweak mods, IWD2 subraces, some 6-8 quest mods and a few of the better modded companions, and the huge Artisan Kit mod.

3.0 mult-classing is the worst ever made! BAB, saves, caster level and spell level don't scale with total level and there's no rounding up, there's an XP penalty per additional class after the 1st, etcetera. I just don't know how many of those rules IWD2 implements
