So yesterday I saw a production of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and I cannot like this hard enough.

Allen is convincing as the bored newlywed but Matthew Dunster’s version gets lost between our time and Ibsen’s

I am INCENSED.

I almost auditioned for an all Black remake of Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People. Imagine my horror to find instead of contaminated water, the hidden revelation is that “police brutality doesn’t disproportionally affect Black people”.

Yes seriously.

Channing Tatum plays a real armed robber who hid out in a Toys "R" Us. Daniel Craig returns for the next Knives Out mystery. And Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler gets a gorgeously rendered adaptation.
The Toronto International Film Festival is full of great movies. Here are 6 we loved

Just saw the great Charles Busch in Ibsen’s Ghost, and it was hilariously majestic.

When we read Ibsen’s A Doll’s House I performed a parody of “Stayin Alive” called “Stayin A Wife” in drag
A great thread would be “super-extra projects you did in elementary or middle school.” I made some kind of Eastern European fried cookie for middle-school history (why???). My mother’s kitchen was destroyed, the cookies were delicious, and the other kids wouldn’t touch them. Mostly thrown out.

And now for something completely different…

This evocative portrait serves as a visual companion to Henrik Ibsen’s poem Terje Vigen, a ballad of stoic endurance and tragic loss.

In Henrik Ibsen’s Peer Gynt (1867), the threadballs (nøstene) are ghostly entities that symbolize Peer's missed opportunities. The creatures haunt him in the moorland, mocking his wasted potential, and shallow life.

"Hedda Gabler". Ibsen's great play. What's it about? Cleavage, mostly.

for us, Ibsen's words seem natural -

"To live is to battle with trolls
in the holds of the heart and the mind
To write, that is to sit
in judgement over oneself."

but many, many people have other ways of doing that process.
