So far a lot of what's transpired is "how do I get around the rules without breaking them" and it seems like the antagonists' beef (except Iguin fuck that guy) has been "why should I follow the rules if the rules are what caused me an injustice"

because qifrey makes himself into such a problem. he’s chased them down, he’s in the way of them getting to coco, iguin can clearly just pop up into his house and half drown him but then just leaves??🤔 he’s clearly not viewed as disposable (like euini, or the leech guy)

i dont think qifrey was intended. i think he was a failed/finished experiment they fully intended to trash until he did Something that made iguin take a hands-off approach. possibly even just as simple as ‘wow i didnt expect this lets see what he does’ but that seems a bit unlikely…

my guess is that iguin is just throwing out possible seeds of discord and waiting until one of them does something of note… id really love to know exactly what the prophecy is and its wording… how do they make sure the knights moralis aren’t ruining the things they’ve started…

but Qifrey is removed from standard pointed cap society. His atelier can’t be the ideal place for her to experience it. he’s gotta be a thorn in their sides. Iguin doesn’t even really injure him when getting the twinned bottle spell back. Qifrey’s gotta be important on his own for some reason 🤔

They also could have kidnapped Coco in the labyrinth at any point in time, but didn't. They want Coco where she is under Qifrey's care and has to be integrated in pointed cap society. Iguin likely wants Coco to get her fill of the hypocrisy of The Pact so she's more willing to break it.
