Apparently, the Magica Riot audiobook has disappeared from @libro.fm again, due to shenanigans on the part of the distributor I used, INaudio.
I've reached out to both services to get it restored, but needless to say, I am rapidly losing patience with INaudio. This is the second time in two months.

Audiobook distributor Findaway has been detached from Spotify and is again independent, under the new name INaudio. Services for self-publishers will be via Voices by INaudio (via @janefriedman.com at The Bottom Line) www.inaudio.com/article/were...
INaudio also completely failed to get the audiobook onto Audible, despite successfully submitting it. I was able to get the Jade audiobook onto Audible myself recently without their help.
I may have to completely remove the audiobook from INaudio and use alternative services soon.

is Inaudio bugging out and having technical problems preventing distribution to @libro.fm or is Inaudio or some other link in the chain going after trans books? With the state of the world it's impossible to know without communication from some of the parties involved and it doesn't feel great!

When I check it in the Inaudio dashboard it still says distributed to @libro.fm but the book says “no longer available” on their site. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch. 😕

Just another way in which AI narration slop is fucking everything up. My audiobooks too have been removed from Libro.fm. I contacted INAudio (who distribute to Libro) and they are on it, but no one even told me my books had been removed—I found out by pure chance while uploading the latest one.

This happened several months ago. Shoutout to Danny Hitzelberger, the Support Team Lead from @libro.fm, who escalated this with INaudio for me, because me trying to get helpful responses out of INaudio was a nonstarter, and I wonder how much of the whole situation was just INaudio's issue to begin with.
But I'm deeply unimpressed with Libro after this--if they've got an issue with INaudio, it would be nice to know why a bunch of us are caught in the crossfire--and I cannot stress enough that if you're considering using a company to distribute, *stay away from INaudio*.

I don't want to think about the hours spent just the past six months chasing down answers/help/yelling at distributors (KDP, B&N, Kobo, INaudio, Google Play and Libro *because* of INaudio, That Company I Am Definitely Not Disparaging).
I just want to write books and sell them to people.

Never did hear back from INaudio but my ISBNs seem to be unlocked now, or one of them, so back we go to uploading and naming every single damn chapter for the millionth time at 1:30am. I'm surprised I don't have them memorized at this point.

Given the problems with Voices by INaudio--not responding to support inquiries, janky website, not taking down de-selected stores, and that libro.fm removed everything due to an "increase in fraudulent books" which INaudio hasn't even warned anyone about, D2D should prob pause encouraging signups.

And for audiobooks Authors Republic is fantastic. They have lots of promotion opportunities, something InAudio doesn't offer.

It isn't even just the royalty rate itself. It's the amount of people with access to buy or rent the audiobook by having it wide.
The royalties are fairly similar (apart from library check-outs, which are much higher lump sums), but the reach is much better on a distributor like inAudio

Update: It's been a week and a half since I contacted INaudio, so at least 3.5 weeks--or more--since the books were taken of @libro.fm and they're still down. Nothing but form letters and condescension from INaudio about how, well, GOSH, they can't possibly be proactive in dealing with this.

I deliberately did not list my audiobooks through Findaway Voices at Spotify, because I've hated Spotify for years. Now Findaway is InAudio and my stuff is on Spotify anyway. And Spotify is making me make an account to deactivate them. Except to deactivate them, I have to agree to their TOS?
