Scam alert: there's an IngramSpark impersonator at ingramsparkbookpublishers dot com. Part of a wave of publishing/ghostwriting scams from Pakistan that hijack authors looking to self-publish--they often "borrow" well-known publisher names but this one also "borrows" the real IngramSpark's logo

Disturbing new terms of service from IngramSpark:

"Lightning Source ... may immediately suspend or withdraw a Title without notice to Publisher, including but not limited to situations where ... Lightning Source receives a request from any Seller, distribution channel, customer, governmental authority, or other third party to remove the Title." 🖋️📖💰

Thanks to the weirdness of IngramSpark, Wolffie here got this before I got my own print proofs 😅
Guess what I got! 😈😈😈

Christmas came early thanks to the most wonderful whoopsie from @magicariot.com.

Shoutout to the lone German who bought one of my lesbian paperbacks through a non-Amazon channel.

Also preferably: do you distribute through channels other than, like, IngramSpark. Which anybody can access anyway.

Me, sobbing as I raise my paperback price to $19.99 just to get $2 in royalties from IngramSpark 🥲

How essential is IngramSpark to professional self-publishing? Expert David Wogahn examines five assumptions about printing and distribution needs.
Do You Really Need IngramSpark? | Jane Friedman
IngramSpark has helped level the playing field for indie authors, but does that mean every self-publisher should be using it?

Hey look. The Ingramspark books I needed for my Pride event last Saturday finally showed up. 🫠

It’d be super cool if IngramSpark could fix this ISBN error so I can release my new book 😭 coming up on a week now

Mmmm, gurl, that $5.77 from IngramSpark hitting the bank account 💅

If you're a self-published author, go at it especially hard. This will affect everything from your books sold through your website to IngramSpark, etc.

Critically important. Not 100% sure whether this covers IngramSpark as well, but if so basically every author using KDP print on demand is having their books fed into AI training models.
Publishers, if you work with Lightning Source or are distributed through Ingram, take note that Ingram is offering an opt-out if you don't want your books sold to AI companies buying them to scan for AI training. ⬇️

Do you use IngramSpark ? Friend of mine uses it.

We really shouldn't have to bloody do this but INDIE AUTHORS, opt out of Ingram selling your books to AI companies: www.ingramcontent.com/page/ai-opt-...

My IngramSpark sales rep is now involved trying to expedite this whole thing so hopefully soon I’ll be able to proceed with the release of Magica Riot: Full Bloom

Any good vibes and positive thoughts you can spare are welcome 🥹
I've really been going through it this last week, pushing at my distributor to fix this ISBN issue so I can actually proceed with the release of Full Bloom. It's got me down and sad and I haven't been around much as a result.

I'm still here, though, and still going. I'm just frustrated as hell.

I'm in the US (Minnesota specifically), and I used IngramSpark.

If you see your favourite indies, especially those who are wide or avoid Amazon, raise their prices... We all just had two emails in less than 24h:

- Smashwords is cutting down its royalty rates, especially at lower price points
- Ingramspark is raising most of its printing costs again
December 3, 2025 at 3:35 PM
I'll more than likely self publish it through IngramSpark and Amazon

Paperback design is done. 🥰

Off to IngramSpark she goes, so I can order a test print copy.

Nothing hits me with that serotonin quite so hard as when those monthly IngramSpark emails arrive telling me I've made another $1.38 💪

Very exciting email from IngramSpark about how they're going to charge indie authors even more money for printing books next year. Very cool and fun news considering how much I already have to charge for a paperback when it still only costs trad pennies per copy. Very normal industry.
