I believe this probably happened because it's so boring. JD only thinks it's interesting and amusing because he doesn't know what normal interactions with other humans are like.

What's funny is I've met Michael and have had very positive experiences with him over the years. Have had Dan blocked due to negative interactions. So I'm definitely not stanning for the latter.

But there's just no reason to throw an entire community under the bus for cheap likes

New research reveals that effective human-AI collaboration depends on communicating uncertainty. Enhancing AI's ability to express doubts with vague instructions can significantly reduce errors in tasks, paving the way for smarter interactions and teamwork. https://arxiv.org/abs/2609.39518

Probably gonna sign off for the rest of the night. I'm starting to have a short fuse about random things. Nothing serious...just not in the mood for "nitpicky" type of interactions about wrestling stuff.

Been too long of a week. Lol 🤼

A study found persuasive scripting in AI voice agents boosts prosocial wish expression among children, while persona effects are minimal. This shows the importance of conversation design in children’s AI interactions, raising key ethical and regulatory questions. https://arxiv.org/abs/2609.38782

I think that's an extremely reductive way of seeing things. I'm a postdoc and she is a full professor: that specific disparity easily outweighs the effects of social group based disparities in our specific interactions.

No idea, I presume it was game dev stuff, but 'Seemed cool' is equally likely.

I don't have the memory for this sort of thing; when it comes to personal interactions and social media stuff, I operate almost entirely on vibes.

i've watched some people who definitely aren't *good* at the game and misunderstand rules interactions but i've never seen someone that seems like they straight up just don't play the game

😂 I suppose I’m laughing at my own interactions with the world. But I love to know people have my back. I’ve also been in situations where it was bad and didn’t have an understanding or outlet for any of it.

My interactions yesterday were no5 a "both sides" issue. First of all, I don't map to pro or anti AI so am not really on a side. Further, while there are trolls who boost and hate on AI; the problem with ivr and guest is that they treat academics who try to engage them like those trolls.

Beta rhythms are used like a switch, changing how the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex communicate so they can handle the different demands of each stage of a task.

Task-stage-specific modes of beta frequency coordination in the hippocampal-prefrontal network

Task-stage-specific modes of beta frequency coordination in the hippocampal-prefrontal network | Journal of Neurophysiology | American Physiological Society
Cognitive tasks typically consist of multiple stages with distinct computations. Yet, how oscillatory dynamics across distributed brain networks switch to support the computations required for each task stage remains poorly understood. The hippocampal-neocortical networks show prominent beta oscillations (15–30 Hz), which are hypothesized to facilitate long-range interactions required for a range of spatial, operant, and cue-based tasks. However, it is unknown how beta oscillations differentially modulate the hippocampal-neocortical networks to support specific cognitive processes for each task stage. To characterize beta oscillatory dynamics in hippocampal-neocortical networks, we recorded local field potential and single-unit activity in the CA1 region of the hippocampus and the prefrontal cortex (PFC) of the neocortex while rats performed an odor-guided two-alternative forced-choice task. We focused on two task stages requiring different cognitive processes: cue sampling and goal attainment. We found that these two stages showed unique patterns of beta-frequency coordination between the CA1 and PFC, including beta-subband-specific differences. Furthermore, we found that ensemble spiking activity patterns in the CA1 and PFC distinguished between the two task stages, with the CA1 expressing spatial and the PFC expressing nonspatial task correlates. Beta oscillations also showed task-stage-specific phase modulation of subsets of the CA1 and PFC populations. Our findings demonstrate that beta-frequency coordination in hippocampal-neocortical networks switches between functional modes, reconfiguring these networks to support the computational requirements for distinct stages within a cognitive task. NEW & NOTEWORTHY Our results demonstrate that beta-frequency dynamics in hippocampal-neocortical networks switch between distinct functional modes to support different cognitive processes within a task. These findings support the hypothesis that the hippocampus and neocortex may be members of different functional brain networks during different cognitive processes modulated by beta oscillations.

Not arguing with “step-skipping”, but I encourage you to update your critiques.

Diminishing returns of dataset inputs are not really a thing anymore because we just make data from interactions now.

Same thing for hallucinations. You just check, with something deterministic.

I’ll believe that as a reflection of your own experience! But neither your experience nor mine is a representative sample, precisely because of self-curation.

If you want to make it a universal claim about Bluesky interactions, you’d need to do statistics on the whole jetstream.

They clearly don't bother to do so. You can look at the thread I QT'd yesterday for a taste. But also, if you haven't been observing their interactions, you shouldn't defend them, either.

A field experiment shows that persuasion framing in AI voice agents can quadruple children's prosocial wishes, while persona (Santa vs. Helper) impacts engagement more than compliance. This emphasizes conversation design as a key lever in child-directed interactions. https://arxiv.org/abs/2609.38782
