Updating this over time to fix bugs and make the controls more intuitive fyi
I vibecoded a simpler mix of factorio and sim city where you're building a utopian city in the woods. It's pretty fun! Works on mobile too. andymasley.com/games/second...

Also, new respect for Amanda Seyfried. She's always been a good actor but she comes off as very smart, intuitive, subtle, quick.

It seems counter-intuitive, but the most important belief to hold if you don't want to constantly get tricked is this:

"I believe that I can be tricked."

it's frustrating sometimes when something that seems easy and intuitive for everyone else just isn't for you

Which isn't just extreme, it isn't just unknown...it's almost counter-intuitive to Americans. Because its a level of intervention in to the smallest corners of private society that doesn't have a U.S. equivalent, and arguably hasn't existed in many many decades.

Somewhat amazingly, rode in a Tesla for the first time this evening (Uber en route to the airport).

Gotta say, my first car (1986 Ford Escort) had more character and more intuitive features. Driven some high-end electric vehicles, but was not impressed by this one.

And a lot of this comes from Stewart's performance. He'd always look for the more thoughtful way to play a line, and the writers reacted to that. It was a counter-intuitive piece of casting that paid off in spades.
Same. There was something that felt really radical about having a TV hero whose superpower was not just intelligence but thoughtfulness, and a kind of moral seriousness. Who showed from that first episode that you “win” by seeking to understand what seems like a threat.
I am so glad to have learned about the integrity of leadership from Patrick Stewart as a kid watching TNG. "What would Picard do?" feels like a fair guiding question.

Thank you, Patrick, for everything.

It’s counter-intuitive, but having forces there signal a credible commitment to defending the Baltics and function as a tripwire to ensure that if Russia attacks, the British public will demand blood.

Op-ed writer: “Who is responsible for keeping another safe? We all are.”

This claim sounds intuitive and harmless, but it’s wrong.

In fact, it helps explain why Americans are much more likely to die in a crash than people in other rich nations.

Let me explain. 🧵
Drivers, walkers, cyclists: It's everyone's job to be careful in the dark | Op-Ed
Many complain about pedestrians and drivers. How many actively take their safety and the safety of others seriously?

I don't think I would try to equate one with the other. Maybe just say they love each other very much. Kids are much smarter than we think, much more intuitive and far less bigoted than adults.
