Science comic from last year when a few folks decided InverteButtWeek was a thing that was needed. So of course I had to participate. FOR BUTT SCIENCE!

There were so many InverteButts, y'all. So many. Looking forward to when it happens again. 🧪🦑🐡

Rear view of a smallish fuzzy mostly golden bumblebee- we see the tip of its back end, abdomen, which is a somewhat shiny black, then a couple of bands of dark orange fuzz before the golden fluff starts. are sharing an almost equally fuzzy cluster of flower heads. This is a composite flower: composed of disk flowers similar to the centre of daisies or asters, but without the petal like ray flowers those carry. So, we see many pistils and stamens in white and near black poking out of the tiny pale purple flowers in a pincushion effect, emerging from a fuzzy/fluffy base. There are a few unopened flower heads and some obovate pointy partly shiny medium green leaves, then a blurred background of mostly green and shadow.
