She hears her near-brother calling her and squeezes her eyes tight. Just a little longer, she yearns silently, of being an adventurer before the tedium of life below pulls her back.

Here there is peace and stillness and cessation to pain even as shimmering light spatters gilded marble at her feet and her vision dims on a memory of beloved golden eyes from a life long lost.

Hydaelyn badgered her into it. Iso was a young single mother trying to raise her daughter alone in the Twelveswood when she began to have echo visions. They became increasingly frequent and desperate pleas from the Mother Crystal until she could no longer stand it.

Primarily red (ruby or dalamud) with white and silver or gold accents. Occasionally she wears teal to match her eyes, but that’s only once in a while.

She rarely wears black as she feels it makes her look monotone with her dark grey skin.

She felt as though her self, her soul, was watching everything from an impossible distance. After returning from the first, most of it subsided, but for the claws. No matter how many times she trims or files them, they grow back to razor sharp talons within a day.

Intolerance of deceit even if it’s for a “good” reason.

Overdeveloped sense of fairness and a desire to correct inequalities.

Supportive and encouraging, but pushes herself too hard.

Way too hard on herself.

Reflexive urge to do a thing the moment someone says she can’t. 😂

Look. She’s a happily settled woman with her three husbands, but Tyrant? Yeah.

Yeah, that man.

I can almost guarantee they had filthy, wicked, sweaty relations after she beat him into the ground.

Who'd your WoL/OC walk up to and just be like "Ooh girl, shock me like an electric eel, baby girl, turn me on with your electric feel" to?

Sha'dow'd do it to any number of their partners, s'trewth, but Fordola the mostest, just to watch her blush)

Cordelia from the Vorkosigan Saga. Don’t know who she is? What a damn shame. You should read the books because they are amazing and so is she.

Cordelia is #goals. I just imagine my WoL throwing her hands up and muttering “Ishgardians!” Whenever they act absurd.

It’s the almost frantic /scritch, scritch, scritch/ of the file that alerts him. His glower is at odds with the tender way he envelops her hand, prizing the tool away as she blushes sheepishly. “Good enough, no more,” he rumbles, kissing each now blunted talon one by one.

Rest? No time for that. Anyone else and the healer in her would demand they do so, but she had to be forced and it didn’t last. She was incandescent and sickened after that violation and determined to put Zenos down like the rabid dog he was.

(Sorry Zenos enjoyers. No judgement)

your wol has just finished "in from the cold" and have been granted about 12-24 hours to rest and recover from the ordeal. what does this stretch of time look like for them? are they actually resting, or do they need to be forced? who do they want sitting there with them?

I headcanon there’s about a year between the end of EW and start of DT, enough time so she has another child. So she’s about 38 by then.

#IsoLore #WoLQotD
ABOUT ISOLDAHLIA Isoldahlia is a duskwight born in the West Shroud into a moderate sized traditional duskie clan and raised to be a healer and herbalist. Her youth was marked by a love of exploration and a desire to see the world, to her clan's disapproval. She, in turn, objected to them participating in banditry. She was shunned by the clan after she trusted the wrong Wood Wailer and got a number of youths slaughtered during a bandit raid, including her sweetheart and presumed father of her child. For most of the MSQ up to EW she is struggling as an absent mom, resenting the role she must play as the Warrior of Light when all she wants is to return home to take care of her daughter. Аge 29 The Fall of Dalamud - Iso helps protect the residents and refugees of Buscaron's Druthers and she and her toddler daughter Nymirae find a new home there Age 34 Isoldahlia's visions have become so bad she gives in to Hydaelyn's wishes and leaves her child with foster guardian friends to become an adventurer. Age 35 The Bloody Banquet sees her a fugitive in Ishgard. Naturally private, she had not spoken of her daughter to the Scions yet, and now she actively conceals Nym's existence for fear of her enemies discovering her. Ада 37 Isoldahlia returns from the First with wounds of both the mind and body. With the help of those she loves she fights her way back from despair just in time to confront it's embodiment and stop the Final Days. She has reached an equilibrium and contentment and acceptance of herself that allows her to continue her travels with a much healed heart.

Day 16: Steel

Isoldahlia defends her friends against the heavensward. Haurchefant and Aymeric continue to become more smitten.

#FFxivWrite2026 #FFxivFanFiction #IsoLore
"They did what?" Isoldahlia's voice was soft and very cold, aqua eyes flat and lips thin. "They have accused your young friends of heresy," Lord Haurchefant said grimly, shaking his head in bafflement. "That there is any cause for such an accusation is absurd, of course, but the knights of the Heavensward are zealous in their defense of the church." And their master thinks he is clever enough to manipulate paragons, she thought darkly. She had no doubt whatsoever that this was the doing of the Archbishop. Every fiber of her being rebelled against that man and his machinations. "What can we do?" she asked, unwilling to even entertain the idea there was nothing. She remembered the trial of Francel, the demand to prove purity of soul through death at Witchdrop. These bastards would touch Alphinaud and Tataru over her dead body. "The best strategy would be to challenge the accusers to trial by combat," Ser Aymeric said softly. Isoldahlia turned her glare on him. The man worked for Thordan. Surely he didn't think she was fool enough to believe he had no part of this as well? His expression was so perfectly, sincerely apologetic it made her teeth ache, so hard did she clench her jaw. "Tataru would be slaughtered. Surely you cannot be suggesting..." "Nay!" Haurchefant jumped in reassuringly. "She is permitted to name a champion. They both are. However I am afraid there are none who would willingly stand for them. Too many fear the church, and the Knights of the Heavensward are skilled and deadly all. Would that I could take the place of one of them, but it would be a disastrous political move, as my father has so adamantly pointed out." Haurchefant's frustration nearly radiated off of him. "I will fight for Tataru," Isoldahlia said without hesitation. "Alphinaud is more capable than he seems." "I pray you are right," Ser Aymeric said kindly. "Is she not incredible?" Haurchefant breathed, eyes nearly sparkling with a combination of delight and admiration. "There is none to match her." The clash of steel was loud in the trial chamber, although the vicious taunts of their knightly opponents was somehow even more obvious. "Aye," Aymeric said softly, focusing on keeping his hands relaxed against his thighs when they wanted to grip in dismay. "And dangerous." His eyes narrowed as her lance swept out in a distinctive sequence that he had only ever seen one other place. He frowned thoughtfully. "I wonder if they realize quite how implacable an enemy she would be should they continue to oppose her so blatantly. I fear they are out of their league."
