#JamesNewton
Converting my HLL byte code to FPGA via Verilog. So: Human readable *machine code*! The CPU is directly executing e.g.
f:0
g:1
i:0
[
f:f+g
g:f
i:i+1
i<3

Added simple comments to the little language. e.g.

# DS1307 test
i:D('I2C', 5, 4, 104) # SCL=5, SDA=4, addr 104
r:16 # radix is hex. registers a-f are now digits
0@i : 45 # write 45 seconds to reg 0
...
x : 0 @ 2 i # read 2 bytes from reg 0 into RAM and point x at it
...

The silly little language now supports conditional blocks with indenting. So now you can do things like:
```
f:"a>5?
t:""BIG!""
b:2
!
t:""SMALL""
b:8
."
f(10)
f(2)
```

Distributed processing: $40 IP cams w/"brains on board" detect motion and forward to server GPU for reco / logging / user notification. e.g. auto doorbell w/o big brother. Setting up a little FTP service was harder than I expected, but with a little help, I got there.

ftp server for smart IP web cams · Issue #10 · JamesNewton/Vision
A lot of IP cams have some "brains on board" and can at least do motion detection, then sent a frame or even a video to an FTP server or NAS. E.g. the Amcrest IPC-XD824-N which are available for ve...

My vision system is doing a great job of ringing the doorbell in the middle of the night when the spider people show up.

Piper TTS runs amazingly well in a little aaeon Boxer (Jetson Nano + RAM). Lots of fun with offline (not helping ICE or depending on cloud) home vision, etc... and now it's going to announce things like temperature / air quality out of range, as well as system heath.

Yeah. That's why my cameras are all local, processed locally, and do not depend on any external cloud resources. And I'm not helping ICE.

I would encourage people to try making their own doorbell (and chicken) cam systems. Not that hard.

Crashing out with angst at the state of the world while trying to force myself to finish a PCB version of the encoder disk and finish the prototype for the servo based on it:

Distracting myself by playing with Machine Vision web stuff. Wish I could collaborate more.

Aaeon Boxer (Jetson Nano w/ 4GB RAM for $36 NOS) and some web cams. Doing low power motion detect to trigger more expensive image reco for a local (non-cloud dependant) security system. Educational. Complex, but not impossible.

But instead of /actually/ working on that, I'm distracting myself with a bunch of silly little side projects.

Sometimes projects need a little LCD user interface, which can distract from the project. This is a dirt simple FOSS nextron with human readable commands. e.g.

`1i 10x 20y 40h 50w #f800C R`

Sets up a clickable red 50 by 40 rectangle at 10, 20. if clicked, a "1" is TXd.

Also... analog speed has value. I've seen that with the Dexter robot's encoder, and I'm exploring it further in a less FPGA dependant version.
