While the cast of Bloodseeker may be a somewhat disorganized mess, I actually kind of prefer writing groups/teams that know how to function cohesively. I generally try to focus on making sure everyone in the core cast can cover for each other's shortcomings.

Drey Constar, protagonist of Sunseeker, would do just about anything for his friends and the people he holds dear. Drey will readily rush into danger or leap into harm's way if it means he can protect them, no matter the cost to himself...

In Truthseeker, Sulfur and Ruji start off as more rivals than anything, and not the kind that mutually respect each other. By the end, however, they might just end up forming a lasting friendship...

I won't spoil too much, but I will just say that in my upcoming third book, Prideseeker, the protagonist Adelle comes to view one of her best friends as something more...

So I'm not sure if I'd single it out as the MOST important, but Drey's relationship to Adelle in Sunseeker is pretty significant. As his mentor, she gives Drey something to aspire to, and Drey likewise serves as a stark reminder for Adelle about her own duties as a Seeker.

In Truthseeker, there's an on-going conflict between the various factions of Hol that escalates further and further while the heroes pursue the monster that slew their tribe. That's all I'll say on the matter for now.

In Sunseeker, yes, there is indeed some deception. Unfortunately I can't elaborate any further because of spoilers. Read the book to learn more ;)

The oldest legends suggest that the Shayta were once a single being: a creature called the Other. When it clashed with the Divines, it split into four mighty beasts representing its sight, voice, mind and body.

Should Rabas and the other Shayta succeed in their mission, things would be bleak for the world of Theryl. The laws of the natural world would be overturned, and humanity would be overrun by monsters. Not a good time, to put it simply.

It was tough to find a scene for this one that didn't outright spoil major story events, but I think I've settled on something. Here, we have one of Rabas's main lackies, Loosh, coming to his master in a moment of desperation after repeated failures...

Rabas views Drey Constar, protagonist of Sunseeker, with utter disdain. He sees all Seekers as little more than tools used by the Divines to oppose him and the other Shayta, yet knows better than to underestimate his adversary...

Rabas's biggest weakness is, quite frankly, that he's no longer as fearsome as he once was. The war with the Divines ages ago has left him severely weakened, yet only his minions and the Divines themselves truly understand how far he's fallen. Even in this state, Rabas is no joke...

Rabas, antagonist of Sunseeker, wishes only for the world's destruction to spite the Divines who created it. He's not exactly the deepest or most complex villain, but he's not meant to be. Sometimes it's fine to just have a monstrous antagonist who's evil for evil's sake.

Drey (Sunseeker): He wants so badly to be told that what he's doing is enough, and that he doesn't need to punish himself for something that isn't his fault...
Sulfur (Truthseeker): She wants to be acknowledge for who she is, and not what others expect her to be.
