I woke up today to see the Java Champion nomination posts, and I can only say I’m truly happy and humbled to join this amazing group.

I hope to live up to the standards of a champion and promise to continue supporting this incredible community as I always have.

Long live #Java! 🥳

Here's what I've noticed: whenever times get tough (like in 2001 and 2008), Java and standards become more popular. I think this is because companies are less willing to take risks, and they focus more on long-term solutions. #java

MCP is genuinely recreating all the problems of the early web. It's amazing.

- clients not following or fully implementing standards (eg. elicitation)
- injecting apps into clients (think: Java Applets, Flash, iframes)

There are two competing standards for answering "what week of the year is it" and the standard Java library implements a completely different algorithm. Ask me how I know.

Please don't ask me.

what?? this seems absolutely absurd and complicated for the same result

this is in a Coding Standards document for an #java assignment I'm doing, this seems quite honestly completely redundant

I’m just curious as to their coding framework (not that I know anything about coding beyond HTML and Java) because I feel like it’s at dinosaur standards and can’t keep up (I have been out of Vyvanse for a week and a half. Apologies if this comes across wonky).

I didn't use Python much after that since I switched to Ruby a year later, but I have good memories from it because it saved me from some Java J2EE EJB corpohell of 20 XML web service standards… it was so light, simple, unrestricted.

tech folks, if you’re reading today’s news and the judge’s name sounds familiar: he was the Oracle-Google trial judge who famously taught himself some Java for the case.

He was scrupulously fair, and also *incredibly* demanding of attorneys—highest standards of behavior and performance.
Judge Alsup just said this👇 to the Justice Department about their refusal to let Charles Ezell testify about his (highly dubious) declaration that OPM did not illegally direct mass firings.

implantable java cards running things like jcop and powered by nfc energy harvesting are well trodden territory

things get harder once you move outside of those standards or need to implant a power source
