A vertical, low-angle shot looking up the massive, fused trunk of the Boy Scout Tree in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. The bark is deeply furrowed with vertical ridges in shades of burnt orange and brown. The trunk splits slightly as it ascends toward a bright canopy of green needles and a clear blue sky. Looking up along the Redwood on the right of frame, while a leaning Redwood cuts across from top to middle lower frame, causing an interesting perspective of trees going everywhere. Shot on Canon 24-50mm. Wide shot of the trees within the Grove of Titans, with one fallen and wedged between others. In the lower distance to the left some other hikers may be seen for scale. Shot with Rokinon 14mm lens. A hollowed out Redwood corpse that looks like giant splinters spiraling upwards, surrounded by still living trees basking in the light which filters through. Shot with Rokinon 14mm lens. The trail takes you through a hollowed out Redwood that has a mostly intact outer core still. Really fun walking through this part of the trail. The Boy Scout tree, one of the most popular Redwoods out there, with me for scale, absolutely dwarfed by it. Taken on Rokinnon 14mm Ultra-wide lens A smaller (in comparison to the others) tree has fallen to a 45 degree angle and helps to show the sheer size of the surrounding Redwoods. Taken on Rokinnon 14mm Ultra-wide lens. Fern falls, surrounded by tall Redwoods, with a section of tree stump laying in the falls. Taken on a Rokinon 14mm Ultra-wide lens. The rootwad from a large fallen Redwood frames the small bridge crossing over a creek. Surrounded by smaller, moss covered trees. Taken using Canon RF 70-200mm lens.
