A shady stroll through the stately redwoods along Lagunitas Creek is always a treat. Huge Elk Clover everywhere. And ferns just crowding the dirt below. But the deep shade from those redwoods seen in the back of the photo keeps things cool. Samuel P Taylor State Park CA

Hot tip for Bay Area folks: Mendocino has notably bad cell reception. I went there for an Inauguration Day long weekend in 2025 to commune with the sea and the redwoods instead of my phone.
