thinking of the guy who told me "who says the studio cares?" re: depiction of Chinese characters in Ranma 1/2.
we haven't gotten to Shampoo yet, but the Jusenkyo Guide is already much less racist in his design and acting.
so yes, random man - somebody did, in fact, care.
