For decades, breeders relied on Tm-2² to protect tomatoes from tobamoviruses. Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) broke this resistance.

HREZ, identified from wild tomato by Enza Zaden, provides resistance to ToBRFV.

What does HREZ recognize?

This is a tribute to everyone who has been part of the Kamoun Lab at The Sainsbury Laboratory, Norwich: students, postdocs, technicians, visitors, collaborators, and friends from all over the world. They did the experiments, argued over the data, and made the lab what it is.

This is super cool, and glad @kamounlab is in.

But an institutional email is required, and I was told that some institutions don’t approve the use of institutional emails for AI systems like @claudeai.

Is this true? Could this exclude some researchers from participating? claude.com/programs/tea...

Fungi occupy a myriad of niches. Interactions with plants can be a continuum and range from ob...

eLife: The rise and fall of the Phytophthora infestans lineage that triggered the Irish potato famine (2013) | Plant Biology Teaching Resources (Higher Education)
Phytophthora infestans, the cause of potato late blight, is infamous for having triggered the Irish Great Famine in the 1840s. Until the late 1970s, P. infestans diversity outside of its Mexican center of origin was low, and one scenario held that a single strain, US-1, had dominated the global p...
