Something I learned recently: many people assume SMSA is a selective medium for Ralstonia solanacearum. It's not, it's semi-selective, and lots of other microbes can grow on it. Spotting Ralstonia takes a good eye 😉🦠 #PlantPathology #Microbiology

Moko disease 🍌🦠 can wipe out banana plants from the inside. Caused by Ralstonia solanacearum, this bacterial disease spreads via tools, insects, and contaminated soil and plants. Early detection and biosecurity are key to protect bananas. #PlantPathology #Ralstonia #Biosecurity #Bananas
