Kara and Riol stand in the Rising Stones. While Riol raises a tankard to quench some manner of thirst, Kara is biting down on an orange slice—one of her favorite foods. Kara's hair, tied back into a ponytail, indicates that this event is likely occurring sometime prior to Endwalker. Kara holds her hand slightly away and looks down at it with mild puzzlement—some juice from the orange has dripped down the inside of her wrist. Riol has lowered his drink and is watching Kara out of the corner of his eye, a bright purple question mark floating next to his head as he wonders what she's doing. Heedless of the impact on her audience, Kara raises her forearm and licks across the inside of her wrist. Riol stands by, shocked and speechless, his face flushed and steam shooting out of his ears as the disembodied question mark has been replaced by a glowing yellow exclamation point.

Kara (a muscular xaela woman with dark scales and floppy blond hair) and Riol (a hyur man with yellowish-blond upswept hair and a patch over his left eye) stand together at a beachfront food bar. Her companion, for his part, looks as grumpy as his stern expression and dark horns would suggest, trying to avoid making eye contact with Maisie. She has clearly cajoled him into dressing up in black slacks and a white collared shirt under a dark red-purple blazer, and he very much does not want her to know that he's enjoying a night out with her (she knows anyway). A hrothgar woman with long, sandy, wild hair and pronounced white fangs stands alone in an Ul'dahn tavern with her arms crossed, staring at a bulletin board on the wall. Her bright turquoise tank top matches her eyes, and her black headband and choker mirror the dark tips of her ears and stripes on her arm. Her forearms are enclosed in white cloth wrappings, while her upper chest, shoulders, and upper arms whose thickness is more akin to telephone poles are criss-crossed by dusty blond fur with dark stripes.

Consistent with Black Mage being her primary job focus since the beginning of Heavensward, she wears a blue shin-length robe with a gray mantle, along with black and gold gloves and gray boots. Her hair is pulled back into the ponytail she sported for nearly the entirety of the MSQ prior to Dawntrail. Alphinaud: "First the hostages at the Vault, then Vidofnir's miraculous appearance, and now the abdication of Count Edmont... this has been rather the eventful day. A promising step towards peace between man and dragon, perhaps, but Estinien yet eludes us." Right Image: A close shot over Alphinaud's shoulder, looking towards Kara. She now stands with her arms crossed, averting her gaze off to her right as she speaks, her brow furrowed. Kara: "What happens now?" Alphinaud: "It may be some time before we hear any news. Author's Note: This comic was written before I had decided that most of the Scions (and virtually all non-Scions) refer to Kara by the long form of her name, Karayanga. Were I remaking this today, Alphinaud would be doing the same. A blond hyuran man stands next to several large jack-o-lanterns, one hand on his hip, the one eye not covered by his eyepatch gazing aimlessly into the distance, thinking to himself with a slight smile. He is wearing a gaudy outfit of purple, white, and black, with gold ornamentation and a jeweled clasp, evocative of Ul'dahn gamblers. The box next to him relays his thoughts: "Another year, another All Saints Wake. Though I certainly weren't expecting her to be the one to suggest it. Glad she's getting more comfortable. At least, I think she is..." The camera is zoomed closer to the man, only showing him from the chest up. His one green eye is slightly raised as he imagines the "date" he's due to meet—a black-scaled xaela woman with a blonde ponytail, wearing a sexy, bright blue, Playboy-style bunny outfit, striking a variety of seductive poses in his hopeful mind. His thoughts continue: "Krile and Tataru said they got our outfits from the Gold Saucer this year. Probably think they're being clever again, but I ain't falling for that twice. Not that I'll complain about them trying..." From off-screen to the right, a simple, quiet statement creeps into the picture, signaling the arrival of the subject of the man's wishful thinking. "Riol. I am ready." The man, Riol, turns back to his left with a smile and his eye closed, starting to left his right arm in a welcoming gesture towards the festival, as he begins to greet his date before abruptly cutting off. "Ah, there you are! Ready to head—" Next to him stands... someone. It's impossible to tell exactly who, as the person is wearing a bulky, full-body outfit of a blue rabbit, similar to what a mascot might wear, with their head entirely hidden within the "rabbit head" of the costume. Kara, the woman inside the rabbit costume, tries to look down at herself, although the bulk of the outfit makes the motion hard to execute, as she comments on her appearance, oblivious to the reaction of the man in front of her: "I think that I liked last year's outfit better. This is quite cumbersome." Meanwhile, Riol holds one hand on his hip and the other up to his lowered forehead in exasperation, gritting his teeth and rolling his eyes. Or maybe just rolling his eye. However many eyes he's rolling, he's clearly had enough of his mischievous colleagues dressing Kara in order to play pranks on him.
