Witnessed migration in action at Sandwich Bay with Meadow Pipits, Siskins and Hirundines a constant feature overhead. Pied Flycatcher, Goldcrests, Firecrests in the bushes and a crowd-pleasing White-tailed Eagle drifted south over the Observatory #kentbirdmigrationday #kentbirding

In addition to Brendan Ryan’s earlier #Bockhill post: 376 Meadow Pipits, 14 Pied Wagtail, 3 Reed Bunting, 120 Skylark, 7 Firecrest, four Wheatear, 320 Linnet and a juvenile Grey Plover circled the fields before moving off west.

13000 Swallows, 500 House Martins 2780 Meadow Pipits, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 50 Skylarks, 100 Siskins and 30 Reed Buntings moving south-east out to sea this morning. Passage still on going. #kentbirdmigrationday

Back from holiday & this afternoon was spent #patchbirding as part of #kentbirdmigrationday. Lots of House Martins & Swallows moving SE across rural Godinton Park, attracting the attentions of Sparrowhawk, Kestrel & a migrating Hobby. 1 Grey Wagtail & c50 Goldfinches also noted.

#patchbirding on #kentbirdmigrationday: moving on to the Hothfield Waterfall Lake. 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Egyptian Geese, 10 Siskins flying east & 1 Meadow Pipit. 2 Kingfishers & 1 Grey Heron. Grey Wagtail, Goldcrests & Chiffchaffs also noted plus a single Cormorant.

#patchbirding on #kentbirdmigrationday: At the Hothfield Flood Storage Reservoir, 1 GC Grebe, 4 Linnets, 2 Stonechats, 2 Reed Buntings, 2 Kestrels, Grey Heron & Grey Wagtail, 2 Common Snipe, 7 Skylarks, c30 Siskins around Worten Wood & c300 Meadow Pipits in a ploughed field.
