I am really intrigued as to what bit of market research has led Kew to believe (correctly!) that I will pay for £7.50 for a bar of flower-scented soap to support biodiversity but (incorrectly) that I will baulk at buying 'a decent sandwich with a museum-subsidising mark-up attached'.

Over a few years of <young child + living near Kew + annual family pass = visiting Kew approx 40 times a year> I grew to curse Oliver Peyton's name during the time - long since gone - when the company of his name ran Kew's catering. I am unsurprised to find that things have not improved since.

Sharing one of my favourite things - a souvenir from Kew Gardens c1930s (my Nan’s). I love that she kept this.
A match box sized box. Closed. On the outside it says:”caught in Kew Gardens. A white bee. very rare Specimen.” The box is now shown open. On the inside of the box it is black and there is a white letter B on it.

Sharing my #OffbeatEats review of Tap on the Line (Kew, London). Located right at the Kew Gardens Underground station, Tap on the Line is the only pub integrated into an actual Underground (vs National Rail) station. Great environment, and a pretty good lunch spot.

Ghosts - the first is a phantom hairdressers and the last a hotel inn spectre.
Spooky season and scarily the Christmas. A blackboard with great ghost and pumpkin characters. Our local hairdresser’s window - always brilliantly decorated. Kew Halloween - a line of ghosts that got trapped in purgatory while attempting to change fitted sheets. A solitary ghostly spectre softly glowing in the mist. Kew Gardens Halloween spectacular.
