Light reading in the garden this morning, thinking about the time our district engineer told me I should ride my #bicycle in the extra wide shoulder of a multi-lane highway and be grateful for it.

It's been suggested to me that the posts in the threads showing the original song-based chapter titles of #KilledByATrafficEngineer have gotten lost in the bluesky shuffle

So I'm going to flip things and quote post them - which should help the cause...

As some folks know, the chapter titles in my #KilledByATrafficEngineer book were originally song titles

Island Press didn't love that idea and wouldn't publish unless I changed things up (although some slipped past the goalie)

But if you want most of them in one place, here is a Spotify playlist:

Very much looking forward to the official book release of Wes Marshall’s #KilledByATrafficEngineer this evening at Ironworks Denver, where the @CUDenver Human Centered Transportation Program will also be launched.
See you there!

@CUDenver @DenBicycleLobby @SteveStaeger #KilledByATrafficEngineer is poised to be one of the most important “streets” books of our time.
For over a decade, Wes has been training engineers & sending them off to cities across the country w/ the knowledge that there’s another way of...

In Kapitel 50 It's a Tradition von #killedbyatrafficengineer geht es um den Zusammenhang von Fahrspurbreite und Sicherheitsgewinn:

Darin schreibt Wes Marshall über die Grundlagen der US-Plangunskultur „At best, the research is inconclusive. At worst, wider traffic lanes lead to higher speeds […]

@CUDenver Terrific turnout for Wes that also felt like a celebration of the Denver urbanist advocacy/activist community, featuring a @DenBicycleLobby shout out.
@SteveStaeger w/ the #bikelove shirt was the perfect host for the evening.

Of note is the spread provided by @CUDenver. Multi-station buffet was some high-class shit for a rabble-rousing professor who’s about to blow minds with the release of #KilledByATrafficEngineer

Bike parking crush greeted me & it only grew from here.
Wes was worried whether enough people would show up to the book launch, and tonight wound up being the Denver urbanism event of the year.
